Need to cancel or reschedule a lesson? No problem! Note that our cancellation and change policy is 24 hours. That means that as long as you cancel at least 24 hours in advance, you'll get a refunded credit instantly

How to cancel or reschedule a lesson

To cancel a lesson, simply go to the Schedule -> My Calendar page. Scroll down the page to the lesson you need to cancel, and click the Cancel button. Make sure to confirm the cancellation on the next page!

If you want to change the date or time of a lesson, unfortunately there currently isn't an "easy" way to do that; you'll need to cancel the lesson, then you can reschedule it for the day/time you wanted.

Note that if it's less than 24 hours before your lesson starts, unfortunately your lesson can't be cancelled. If you're going to miss a lesson but it's less than 24 hours before it starts, please let your teacher by cancelling it! This will update their calendar so they see you can't make it.

How to cancel an entire reservation

On the Schedule - My Calendar page you'll see a section named "My Reservations". Just click the button there and confirm on the next page to cancel ALL of the lessons in that reservation:

Note that if you only want to cancel one or two lessons in your recurring set, scroll down the page and just cancel those lessons individually

Common question: can I change or cancel my lesson less than 24 hours in advance?

While most students understand the need for an evenly applied cancellation/change policy, we do get this question from time to time. We understand it's frustrating not to be able to change a lesson. First, when scheduling a single lesson, note that we do allow you to cancel for 10 minutes after scheduling, even if the lesson is less than 24 hours from now.

We don't allow you to change or cancel a lesson less than 24 hours in advance, and we want to explain why:

  • Primarily, it wouldn't be fair to our teachers. Imagine if your employer contacted you most days you worked, and told you your schedule had changed (and possibly that your earnings had been reduced for the day [lesson cancelled]). It would be very frustrating, and not a great job. We want our teachers to have a great, enjoyable job, as I'm sure you do as well. 24 hours notice for schedule changes seems fair in this regard
  • We want to apply the same policy evenly to all of our students. It wouldn't be fair to you if we allowed some students sometimes to cancel or change a lesson less than 24 hours in advance, but didn't allow you to do the same
  • Most of the time, your teacher isn't available at the different time you want. Your teacher likely already has lessons scheduled for most of the rest of the day, or they have plans to be with their family at a certain time. Trying to coordinate with him or her while they're in the process of teaching, and then back to you, to find some new mutual time that will work, would usually not result in success.
  • So what do we ask? If you make a mistake scheduling, or an emergency comes up, we ask that you understand the points above. We keep our prices as low as we possibly can, and we're a small team. We're simply not able to try and coordinate a time change, nor would doing so be fair to your teacher or create a great working environment for them. If you aren't able to make it to a lesson, maybe treat it as an unexpected tip to your teacher 😊
